Kankalinhats

Ok, I admit, she is my friend... But don't hold it against me, we all have the odd crazy one amongst ours! Read about her in her own words:

"I'm Kristina of Kankalinhats a Brighton based milliner/hat designer, I design and make mostly hairpieces and small hats (some people like to call them fascinators, but I think that word is just vulgar and sounds like an adult-toy, speaking of which one of these days I shall design a FASCINATOR fashioned of such a toy, now that sure will be FASCINATING ;-)) So after much deliberation the lovely Etsy UK street team came up with the idea to call my creations HATLINGS! So hatling it is, and I will not rest till the word will be included in the Oxford English Dictionary! Help me, and use this word (frankly, isn't it just so much CUTER than fascinator???) I think people don't wear enough hats! They are fantastic, make you walk tall, and make you and others smile, they look good on young and old, tall and short, skinny and voluptous classic and quirky! I especially feel that there is not enough stuff out there for the young audience, so I had them in mind when designing my current collection."

So there it is, what do you think? Will she succed? Will there be a head-wear revival? I do think that her "hatlings" apart from being beautiful also represent a much needed lightness and an element of FUN in our approach to everyday fashion. Fun??? Fashion??? YES I believe it's possible!!

PCAGOE

Yesterday I joined - finally! - the Polymer Clay Artists Guild of Etsy (PCAGOE). This is a great team, the members are all polymer clay artists who are selling their artwork on Etsy, joining them gives me the feeling a little of arriving at home :)

The next weeks I will show my favorite piece of art from each PCAGOE member's shop.

This lovely little turtle was created by Art by Lilin, you can find more cute little creatures in her shop.

In the shop of Anne White Designs you can find lovely jewelry what she makes with her beautiful polymer clay beads.

Amy and Whalen offer you a variety of beautiful polymer jewelry, art, and other goodies.

I you are looking for magical whimsy and joyful creations, you should visit Artsy Clay's shop.

Beadworx makes amazing polymer clay jewelry. She has a very smooth and elegant style.

I am featured on TalentDatabase.com

Yesterday I signed up on the TalentDatabase, made myself a cute little portfolio and today I got a mail from them, says "Congratulations. Your listing has just been featured on the main page of the Fashion Portal channel in the TalentDatabase."

Wow! Well I don't know how long this fame will take, 15 minutes or a day, so I took a screenshot, just in case somebody missed it :)

There I am, on the right, two times, once in the featured zone and once in the popular today zone (click on the picture to enlarge).

Oh, and I also got a brand new, shiny badge :)

Valentine's Day is coming

Being a Hungarian I don't celebrate Valentine's Day, but the fever of it every year on the web kind of got to me, so I made a little cute necklace especially for the occasion. No hearts though, but the colors are right! :)
For the photo I used a white tulip, what I just bought at the local florist.

Happy new year!!

Better late than never: a very happy new year to everyone!
